Chapter Two
Lieutenant Colonel Alexander entered the small cell inside the starboard crew quarters. A man in ragged woodland camo pants was sitting on the cot without a shirt on, smoking on his pipe and scratching his white hair. The Colonel spoke. "It's been a long time, David. I haven't seen you in eight years." David scoffed, placing his pipe aside. "I'm retired, Colonel. I don't have to take orders from you or anyone else." The colonel had a very grim facial expression. "You will follow these orders. We're dealing with the Reaper Pirates." David looked shocked.
"The bastards that wiped Hateshinai off the map?" The colonel nodded. "Yes... Burned it to the ground and killed off everyone. It all happened one month after you came back to the mainland." David looked very serious. "I spent eight years there... They taught me everything I know about Judo and Ninjitsu... And they wiped it off the map." "Now you see why this is important, David. They have made the island of Hateshinai their new base, now calling it "Golden Crest".
"What are they demanding?" David asked. "The pirate terrorists are demanding that the three kings turn over The Three Keys. If their demands aren't met, they will use a Forbidden Spell. They claim that they got ahold of a fragment of one of the pages of the Forbidden Spellbook, an archive of apocalyptic magic sealed away by Sages of the Third Age."
David shrugged. "So whats the mission?" "Your mission is to board a small merchant ship. We have intel that the page fragment is there. You'll approach the ship by boat and board it. It's a merchant ship owned by pirates, so it must be only able to carry about eighteen people for security detail and crew. Once you have the fragment, torch the ship. We don't want any evidence that we took it from them. If all goes well, the mission should only take a few hours." David smiled. "Home in time for dinner." "We will use new Commorbs to communicate with eachother. These are the new model that goes inside your ear and directly stimulates the small bones of it. No one but you will be able to hear it. Also, we will be using codenames to refer to eachother in case anybody is listening in. I'll be Colonel Rains. You will be Sparrowhawk. Alright Sparrowhawk, we don't have much time until that ship leaves the harbor. Lets get moving." David nodded. "Got it."
That was two hours ago. Sparrowhawk was already climbing up the side of the ship. It was medium sized and looked like a normal merchant ship from the small rowboat he was in. "The men in here are definitely Reapers," Sparrowhawk said to empty ear, recieving a reply from Colonel Rains. "Okay, once more, this is the mission outline. Get inside, find the page fragment, and scuttle the ship. After that, teleport out." "Copy that." Sparrowhawk climbed aboard, drew his dagger and slowly proceeded off the aft deck.
